The Road to Blissdom
In just a few weeks (3 to be exact) I will be taking the girls to school, packing the van, picking up my blogging buddy Paula and hitting the road to Blissdom!
According to Mapquest it’s a 10 hour drive. Which is, coincidentally, almost as long as it takes to fly there. (Up at 3 am to catch 5 am flight, layover in either Memphis, Atlanta or St. Louis , land in Nashville, get luggage -hopefully- get shuttle, get to hotel at 1 pm. No, I’m not joking.)
Our “Road to Blissdom” will take us from central Iowa, through eastern Missouri and St. Louis, across southern Illinois, a bit of western Kentucky and in to Tennessee.
Are you going to Blissdom? If you’re along our route and want to join us let me know! We’re heading out on Wednesday morning sometime (I’m shooting for 10am, but that may not happen exactly) and making the return trek on Sunday.
Driving may be less expensive than flying but it’s still not cheap. Paula and I are currently taking sponsors for our drive. Want to wrap my van in your logo? Let me know! Want me to drop off your info and talk about your company every time we stop for gas or food? Want to supply our munchies? Let’s talk! Paula and I are both active on Twitter and Facebook plus you’ll get lots of love on our blogs (Iowa Geek, Family Rambling- formerly Have Kid Will Travel- and Boogers and Burps). You can easily reach me via email, put “Blissful Drive” in the subject line. I’ll respond asap.

I second Jody’s post!
Honestly, Jody is a mover and a shaker (and I gladly follow behind her everywhere she goes) and is very influential both locally and throughout the blogosphere. I guarantee that if you sponsor us, you will be thrilled with your ROI! (Plus, we will love you forever.)
Thanks, Jody, for posting this!
We’ll see you on I-57. Driving as well, from Champaign, Ill. There will be three of us, and our trip is a little shorter. Good luck!
Our drive is only six hours. Three of us are headed to Blissdom from Champaign, Illinois. Maybe we’ll see you on I-57. Good luck!
Still pondering going. Honestly not much interested in the sessions. I don’t need to know how to run a business or write {really} but the SOCIALIZING – now that’s another story. Should I go? Should I?
