Apparently the Umbilical Cord ins’t Cut
For the past week I’ve stuck to my plan.
- Off the computer by 8:30
- An hour of reading or time with Doug
- Sleep by 9:30
- Out of bed at 5:30am
- Exercise with EA Sports Active
or on elliptical
- Time with God- right now I’m reading First Place 4 Health
- Shower at 6:30am
- Wake kids at 7am
The girls, however, aren’t cooperating as well. When I wake I come directly to the basement. The girls can not hear me in their room two floors above. Yet, somehow, they know I am awake. And they come downstairs. Today it was 6:15am.
I don’t know about your kids, but mine are whiny and grouchy when they are tired. And waking this early only intensifies the problem.
It’s almost like when they were in the womb and knew when I was up an moving. I’m pretty sure the umbilical cord is still attached.

I’m anxious to hear how you like that book. You are the 2nd person that I have heard mention it!
And don’t worry — my kids are the same way. Until they become teenagers and they sleep all day, and you wonder when they will EVER get up!
that’s funny. scott is like that too. Bethany on the other hand stays dead asleep. I sometimes wonder if its because she has a fan in her room that acts as white noise and he doesn’t. Do you have white noise or some kind of noise in their room?
