Not So Silly Putty
Brenna has been very adamant about growing her hair long.テつ She’s got the thickest hair…テつ And lots of it.テつ But she deals with the brushing and the tangles to have that long braid or the fluffy pony tail.テつ Or, her favorite, the hair that “swings when she runs”.
Today’s event changed all that.テつ You see, today Brenna got a present when she went to deposit her savings at the bank.テつ They gave her silly putty.テつ I tried to talk her out of it and into a twirly pen or a crayon wheel.テつ But, no, she had to take the silly putty.テつ Probably only because I tried to talk her out of it.
It turns out that silly putty does not make good necklaces.テつ Or maybe it does, but not when you have long hair.テつ Because what you get is a mess like this:

Lovely blue stuff stuck into the hair.テつ On the top, underneath, at the ends.
Add a mom (who happens to be having hormonal issues) and a haircut is in short order.テつ Freeze it?テつ Not a chance.テつ There’s a lesson here…
Tears follow- both because the remaining silly putty gets thrown away and the scissors come out.テつ I really think most of the tears were for the stupid silly putty…
3 inches lost…テつ And she still has a ton of hair…

Oh no! But it makes for a fabulous story and blog entry! HeHe She is still beautiful.
Tell Brenna when I was 4 I had really long, thick, curly hair down to my lower back. I went to a friend’s house for a play date and we decided to play barber shop. Guess who got to be the ‘patron’ first? My buddy grabbed her mothers sewing shears and cut off my beautiful ponytail. ::sigh:: I am still getting over it. I wore a Dorothy Hamill style haircut after that.
