My Life: All Laundry, All the Time
OK, it may not really be all the time… But it certainly feels like it! And I only have two kids! But they are girls and there are days we may go through two outfits (not including costume changes!) due to chalk drawing in the driveway, playing in the sand or cooking mishaps.
Not a day goes by that I don’t do laundry. I wish I had a Rosie (the Jetson’s) or an Alice (The Brady Bunch)… Have I just dated myself? Do any TV shows (excluding the “Real Wives” series because, honestly, how “real” are they?) even have housekeepers, ahem… domestic help, anymore?
Laundry was so much easier before I had kids. About 3 loads a week was the norm and it didn’t matter what detergent I used.
Then came Brenna. With her eczema and sensitive skin. Doug was working with an allergist at the time who recommended we use All®Free & Clear. It was new at the time and free of perfumes and dyes. I noticed an almost immediate improvement in Brenna’s skin and we were able to,eventually, stop using the prescribed topical cream.
We’ve been using the All® Free & Clear ever since. Not only is it gentle to my girls’ sensitive skin, but it keeps our clothes clean with Stainlifterâ„¢.
Recently I was asked by Mom Select if I would be interested in reviewing the new All® Small & Mighty® 96 oz bottle. Umm, yeah. I All-ready use it! (sorry, couldn’t resist the pun!) At one ounce per load this bottle will do 96 loads of laundry. Let’s see… 96 oz / 7 loads of laundry per week = 13.71 weeks. Or approximately 3 months. And the 96 oz bottle has a retail value of $12.99. That’s 14¢ per load! Now that’s value!
So… I got this great package from Mom Select and All the other day. Check it out:

A 96 oz bottle of detergent, 2 coupons for FREE 32 load Small & Mighty® and a seriously cool Hayden-Harnett Ibiza Convertible Travel Tote (more about the bag here!)
The only problem? I can’t use the detergent! Oh well… My loss is someone else’s gain! Yep, I am giving away this 96 oz bottle of detergent! The catch? It has to go to someone in my area. It’s heavy & I won’t be shipping it across the country. LOL
What I will ship is one coupon for a free Small & Mighty®. So I’ve got two contests going on… Same rules for each, but if you’re in the Des Moines area leave me that info in your comment, as well.
To enter: tell me about your laundry! How much do you do? How dirty is it? What’s the nastiest stain you’ve ever removed? Make it good: winners will be chosen based on the comment.

Make sure I can easily find an email to contact you; I will not search for one. Contest ends June 23 at 11:59 pm. I will draw the winner June 24. The winner will be contacted via email and will have 3 days to respond. If I do not hear back from the winner within that time another winner will be drawn.

I’m not local … but I WILL BE. I’m coming to your exact area the weekend after next. That’s right! Do you make deliveries to the ball park???
Anyway – don’t even get me started on laundry.
I think STAIN REMOVER is my middle name.
One of my children once called me THE LAUNDRY QUEEN. And not in a complimentary way. I don’t think.
Stains that I’ve removed. Ummmm … what stain have I not removed? So, I’ll just go with what I’ve removed this past week. Blood. Grass stain. Snot. Bubble gum. Dirt. Ketchup. Gatorade. Dog Poop. Tomato Sauce. Marigold juice (whatever it is that squirts out of those flowers when you’re dead heading). Tea. Chocolate. Candle wax. Toothpaste. Strawberries.
Do you really need me to go on? Let’s just say I’m very VERY thankful … that I have not removed vomit from any article that has needed washing. I mean, cause really … if you haven’t had to scrub that out … I’d call it a successful week, wouldn’t you?
HIIIII!!! umm yes.. I would like this.. because I do 6-8 loads of laundry every.. single.. SUNDAY! The nastiest stain would be either those potty training undies from Ethan OR the vomit from my daughter when it was all in her bed etc… BUT the worst stain would be the pink glitter crayon from all of Ethan’s clothes.. that really sucked, I think I even blogged about it. Thank goodness for some Oxy Clean.
I added your button too!

YES I WANT TO WIN!
I used to do laundry only once or twice a week since I only have a husband and a 2 yr old daughter. But now I have my nephews (2 BOYS) moved in with us. So I constantly doing laundry.
Gross stain: BLOOD! and PINK MILK threw up!!! yuck!!. But I think the nastiest laundry is.. stinky work out clothes!. I have a husband who’s a wrestling coach as a side job who likes to collect work out clothes in his car. So we’re talking about stinky clothes that smells like rotten food smell. That’s just simply gross.. now times 3 since we have a 10-yrs old and a 13 yrs old who do work out and play basketball constantly.
I even have to hold my breath when I enter my own laundry room!! **gagging**
I do 12-14 loads of laundry a week. It’s intended to do it all in one day, but it usually takes an evening and a day to wash and dry; an evening or two to fold (depends on if Hubby’s helping or not), and then I try to get things put away before I start all over again. Needing the baskets usually helps with that.
My husband farms, so he comes home with all manner of fun stains; my son has terrible eczema so we use All Free & Clear and no fabric softener.
Laundry is not one of my favorite things, that’s for sure.
I think the worst story is the one where It never stops. I think that i have it all done and then there is more. It is a reoccurring nightmare that i have every night…..oh wait i think that it is really my life… Laundry is the bane of my existence!!!!
Well, since Jarod often comes home covered in mud the rule is…his clothes get washed after all of the other laundry is finished. Then the washer has to be run empty at least once…sometimes twice after to make sure all the mud is out of it.
This rule came about after Zoe’s clothes have come out of the drier with mud stains all over them. We have lost several cute outfits due to Daddy’s job.
As for other stains, Zoe spit up ALL the time for most of the first year of her life, as you know. I CONSTANTLY had a soaking tub going with spit-up clothes in it. Went through MANY bottles of stain treatment.
